I've seen books with power words, some of the best sales letters ever written, 300 of the best headlines... Is there anything else you can learn about writing a sales letter?Suppose you could write a letter to your target audience and speak directly to their unconscious mind to do as you please. Imagine stepping inside someone's mind, grabbing ahold of the steering wheel and turning the readers thoughts in any direction. That's a lot of power and control to have over someone.

And The best part about what I'll be showing you? They have no idea what you're doing.
When I go searching along on the Internet, very few times do I ever see the techniques for hypnotizing others being put to use. Perhaps they've never heard of it or dare try it. But I'm here to tell you, you're missing out on a lot persuasion power because it works both in verbal and in writing.Have you ever thought about why testimonials in your sales letter are so powerful? Consider this difference:If you come to my page and I tell you how great MY product is, and I know what it will do, because I'VE had this happen to me, and I'VE had that happen to me... you're going to create resistance towards the reader.

The last thing you want is a reader with an argumentative conscious mind.
But as soon as they come along to someone else's comments and their experience, they are thinking to themselves "oh here's someone like me, this is what happens" AND THEY STEP INSIDE THE STORY AND PRETEND THAT THEY ARE THAT PERSON BELIEVING THE SAME CAN HAPPEN TO THEM. Let me show you and example of this:I remember talking with my friend, and he was telling me how something mysterious begins to happen when he reads a paragraph. Like first, he notices the darkness of the letters, and just after that happens and continues to read, then he turns his attenton towards the grey of the page. Did you experience what was described?In order to make sense of what you were reading about my friend in the example above, your mind has to shift into the other persons experience to make sense of it.

Let me show you another example of how I used this at an old job I had when I sold vacuum cleaners to people. Yes I sold vacuum cleaners a few years back and if I didn't come knocking on your door, reach in your pocket, pull out around $2,000 and let me know and I'll come over and give you my demo... just kidding. And I won't use this technique on you I promise... I've got others I can use.Okay, getting back to the purpose of this article.

You learn a lot about persuasion and communication while selling face to face. I just happened to focus more on the "sneaky side" of things so I could get what I wanted faster from people. By the time I moved on away from the company, I was selling 95%!! Here is one of the techniques I used right away, just when I was starting my demostration and was giving my victims the opportunity to learn more about me. And not once did they ever catch on to what I was doing to them:I would say: "you know, I used to come in here with partner to try to help me sell this, but after I saw how he tried to sell them I didn't want his help anymore.... yeah he's not with us anymore.

I remember this one time I was in home giving a demostration and he looked at the couple dead in the eye and said "you're looking at this machine, and YOU LOVE IT, and REALLY REALLY WANT IT, and because YOU WANT IT, there really is no point in me showing you about it anymore because YOUR MIND IS SOLD ON THE IDEA, YOU WANT THIS MACHINE"... "I mean, can you believe that? Like he stood a chance! Did he actually think that the couple he was talking to was going to sit there, and REALLY THINK those thoughts? So much that it was like (mocking)"YOU'RE GOING TO BUY THIS AND THERE'S NO TURNING BACK" But I'm not going to do that to you I promise.(Or Am I? -shh) I respect that you can make your own decisions and if YOU WANT THIS VACUUM CLEANER, you're going to FIND YOUR OWN REASONS to PURCHASE THIS..." "Now that we have that settled, and you know what I won't do, let me show you this really neat...."Can you see how many times I put inside their head that they want to buy it? 10 Times to be technical I put inside their head's that they love it and they want it. If three times is enough, I figured 10 would be better, just to be safe. And wouldn't you know it? I wasn't even able to get halfway through the demonstration and the husband or the wife (which ever one held power over the money) would stop me and say "We'll take it."I never told this secret to my associates because I was selfish and I wanted all the attention and ho hum's for selling these machines so fast and at a great record to boot. I'm not like that so much anymore but I assure you that I still get what I want using this method and I've never been caught.

And it also works in writing!Of course... I had more tricks up my sleeve so my demostration wasn't so predictable (because I was getting bored with how easy this method was) but we'll save those tricks for an other time. Remember, using quotes forces the person who is listening to experience what you are describing without you ever being suspected of using it to persuade them. It just seems like an innocent conversation! After all, you're only telling them a story.
